The Return of the Dublin Bay Sailing Club Hut

Dublin Bay Sailing Club is delighted to announce the return of the hut to its rightful place on the West Pier in time for racing next Tuesday 13th July.

The hut had not been in position this season due to the uncertainty of the pandemic – in fact our decision was made because the vaccination process was viewed as still being in its early stages towards the end of our AIB DBSC 2021 Season.  However, the speed of the COVID vaccination roll-out means our race management volunteers have had their necessary vaccinations, which is great news.  With 8 Tuesdays remaining, it is considered feasible to have the hut in operation for the rest of the season.

DBSC Honorary Secretary Chris Moore worked out the logistics over the past few days and the hut was placed on the West Pier on Saturday morning, 10th July.  Next Tuesday will be our first Hut race day.  Keelboat racing will continue as scheduled for Thursday and Saturdays (all committee boat starts).

The Dublin Bay 21 Footers are due back in Dun Laoghaire on 30th July so hopefully we will see them racing off the hut on Tuesdays in August.
