A message from the Commodore

Hal Bleakley RIP

It is with great sadness that we inform our Members that George Harold (Hal)
Bleakley, former Commodore of Dublin Bay Sailing Club passed away on Monday
10th November, last.

Hal was Commodore of DBSC between 1975 and 1978. Hal served on committee
as a Flag Officer for over 9 years. Both he and his wife, Jane, were keen Mermaid
sailors. Apart from sailing Mermaids competitively for many years, Hal was very
involved in the Dublin Bay Mermaid Sailing Class. Hal went on to become a Race
Officer for DBSC until he retired as RO in 2014.

Hal will be remembered as being a committed and hard working Flag Officer
throughout his tenure as well as an outstanding Race Officer for Dublin Bay Sailing
Club.

His family are in our thoughts and prayers.
